Session 3

The aim for the first three sessions is to help us grow and be able to equip others to:

  • Share our story - which unlocks hearts.

  • Share God’s story - which transforms lives.

Looking back

Discuss - Review your take home actions from last time and share something that you are thankful for.

Looking up

Discover #3 - How can we share our stories?

Pray - Ask God to help you grow in sharing your story.

In John 3:3 Jesus says, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” Being born again is of the highest importance if we are going to follow Jesus.

When did you meet Jesus? How and when did you make Him Lord of your life?

Practice - Sharing your testimony. Try the following structure:

BC - What was your life like before you met Jesus?

JC - How have you come to know Jesus and trust Him as your Lord and Saviour?

AD - What difference has Jesus made in your life?

Read Luke 8:26-39.

Discuss - Do the above steps (BC, JC, AD) for the man in Luke 8. What does Jesus tell the man to do? What might v.39 look like for you? “…tell how much God has done for you.”?

Looking forward

Do - Write out your testimony. Tip: if you are confident in doing this already, try thinking about how you might share it in different settings. For example, how could you share it if you only had 30 seconds?

Share - Who could you share your story with this week? Tip: You can practice sharing it with Christians.

Pray - For opportunities to share your story with non-Christians.
